Rules and etiquette for Omagh Anglers Association

 

  1. All trout under 10 inches must be carefully returned to the river. 
  2. The bag limit is 4 trout per day. 
  3. All members are required to pay their fees before commencing to fish. (Any member found fishing without having paid their fees will be immediately banned from membership). 
  4. Membership ticket must be produced on demand to the association’s bailiffs or any other member of the association. 
  5. Members must, on request, produce the contents of their fishing bag to the association’s bailiffs. 
  6. Members must cooperate with club bailiffs at all times. 
  7. Members must carry their membership ticket at all times when fishing association waters. 
  8. No dead or live minnow fishing at any time. 
  9. No shrimp or prawn fishing at any time. 
  10. No float fishing at any time. 
  11. No maggot fishing at any time. 
  12. No unauthorized fires permitted. 
  13. Take all litter home with you. Tidy up any packets and papers that you have used. The discarding of litter will not be tolerated and may lead to termination of membership if witnessed. 
  14. All anglers shall agree to abide by the Fisheries Act (Northern Ireland) as applicable to game fisheries. 
  15.  Vehicles should be parked in such a position as not to cause obstruction or inconvenience to another person.  
  16. It is forbidden to break stiles, fences or property or to walk through crops and gates should be left as found. 
  17. The committee shall have the power to suspend or expel any member whose activities are found to be detrimental to the association or fellow members, decisions may be appealed within 14 days. 
  18. Good angling etiquette should be adhered to at all times i.e. no stepping in front of other anglers or casting over the top of other anglers.
  19. Use only the tags authorised by the Loughs Agency keeping the right colour to the right time of year, Blue tags up to the 31st May and Black tags from 1st June onwards and above all make your returns at the end of each season
