It is with great sadness today that I have to report the passing of club stalwart Norman Hall after illness.
I have known Norman for almost 30 years as both a Bailiff when I met him at the river checking permits and later in my role as Secretary when he was on the Committee of the Association. He took over the mantle of bailiff and committee member from his father Andy Hall who had checked my permits back in the 1970s.
Norman was a great angler and was a dab hand with a fly rod when casting a long fly line in search of a salmon on the River Strule. I met him on several occasions on the Drumragh river and he told me that is where he learned to fish many moons ago.
I offer condolences to his family at this very sad time on behalf of the Trustees, Officers, Committee and membership of Omagh Anglers Association.
Rest in peace Norman you will be sadly missed
Terry Smithson
Honorary Secretary
